Pencil Lines sketch #231

I had so much fun yesterday evening playing with the beautiful Emma shoppe line from Crate paper. I love it !!!!! I used Pencil Lines sketch #231.

My titles are almost always in icelandic but I had to use these gorgeous chipboards as a title for this lo. I adore these pics of my DD taken in January.

Supplies: Emma shoppe Crate paper, bazzill and EK success.

It's been a hard week

The last 10 days or so have been so hard on us. It all started with my little Silja getting really sick. She was so sick that she was admitted to the childrens hospital for several days. She had a really bad case of Respiratory Syncytial Virus. She is doing so much better now but I'm so tired that I haven't be able to do anything else than taking care of her and Sunneva. Hopefully that is about to change. I miss scrapping. This weekend I really wanted to do two things. I want to do my Project 12 lo for febuary and I want to do the Pencil lines sketch. I really love the sketch for this week. I did not have enough time to do both things and to tell you the truth I don't feel that inspired these days. But I did Project 12. I loved the sketch but I don't love how it turned out. I don't know where my mojo is but the lo lacks layering and details. It's way to plain. The journaling is about how much I dislike Febuary. Strange since I got married Febuary 22 the year 2003. Febuary this year was all about cakes and parties. We celebrated all kinds of things in Febuary. Silja was babtized and we celebrated our 8 year weeding anniversary. DH and Sunneva were sick to name few things from the journaling.

On track - two new lo's

I'm pretty happy with myself today because I'm on track with Silja's month album. Ok, I know she is only 4 1/2 months old but I'm still glad. I got the pics I took on her 3 and 4 months "birthdays" 2 days ago and I did both the lo's yesterday (well I finished them today).
My good friend Ása Lára gave me these awesome month cards from Little yellow bicycle before Sila was born and I have used them on her lo's so far. I was glad to see the the 3 months die cut was green. This page may look like a boy page but I love to be able to do a green lo's for her.
Title: 3 months
Supplies: Basic grey (some old paper), Bazzil, Maya Road, Stickles, MME, Prima, American Crafts, Little yellow bicycle and MLS.

And here is the 4 months lo for her album. I was saying to my hubby that I wish I had done this for Sunneva also. I have created lo's over the years using pics taken on her birthday and I have written a long text about how she is at each age but I don't have lo's with journaling about the first months in her life. I have 12 pics taken 17th of each month the first year but no journaling. I kept a diary for her at the time. Maybe I could use that one for journaling ???? Well I'm not sure what to do.

Title: 4 months. Supplies: Bazzil, MME, EK success, Teresa Collins, Making memories, Little yellow bicycle, Basicy grey, Tim Holtx and bazzil.

Pencil Lines sketch #229

Slipe "N" slide was a total hit here last Summer. This is my first LO using pics of Sunneva and her friends sliding. I used a Pencil Lines sketch #229 as a base.

Title: ...and slide
Supplies: Basic grey, Bazzil, Little Yellow Bicycle, Queen&Co, American Crafts, Imaginisce, Tim Holtz, EK success and Studio Calico.

I used for the very first time a Huey's Color Mist from Studio Calico. You can you see it on the pink Basic grey paper (the background paper) and the sky stamp. I love it. I have been so afraid to try it out but I think I may be hooked.

No my diary list today...feeling to tired.

A fantastic day

This day was the best. I woke up with the girls and spent some quality time with them until noon. Then I had a crop date with my darling scrapgirls. It was so great to get out of the house for few hours. The girl who hosted the crop is also my neighbor so it only took me 3 minutes to walk to my house to breastfeed Silja. I had so much fun just scrapping and talking. One in the group wasn't able to come and we missed her but hopefully we'll be doing this again soon.

I did 2 one page lo's and 1 two pager.

This one I did using Pencil lines sketch #228. Great sketch for these pics of Sunneva in her Christmas Dress 2010.

Title: The Dress. Supplies: Bazzill (it's a white background, sorry for the bad scan), gorgeous christmas line from 3ndypapir.no (I love it !), American Crafts, Cricut, MME and EK success.

I love how the American crafts flower ribbon matches 100% with the roses on the dress.

I'm in love with all the lines from Echo Park. I think I have bought all lines from them except two. I can't wait to buy their latest one called Playground. It's so perfect for scrappers with kids. Anyhow this one I did using a pic of Silja when she is 6 weeks old. So cute. The title Cutie. Supplies: Coredinations ColorCore, Bazzill, Echo Park, Maya Road, Marvy Uchida and Jewel Tone Scrapbooking (the felt stickers).

I did not finish the 2-pager so I'll be uploading it later on.

In other news I can tell you that I fell of the wagon. Yes, I went on a little shopping spree and bought the Emma Shoppe line from Crate paper. I just HAD to have it and since I had fallen in the first place I HAD to buy few other supplies too. You can judge me ! What I'm thinking is that I can fall once of the wagon but only once. I know I'm hopeless.

Listening: To nothing
Eating: Nothing
Drinking: Water
Wearing: My pajamas
Feeling: Great, had such a good day
Weather: Beautiful winter weather. Snow.
Wanting: To have my wish come true (not hopefull though)
Need: To go to sleep soon
Thinking: That I should go straight to bed when I finish this
Enjoying: A good day's work
Wondering: If I will go to the gym tomorrow
Planning: To eat healthy tomorrow

Monday Song - Tori Amos Winter

The Monday song is one of my all time fav song. I love Tori Amos. When I was given birth to Sunneva in 2003 I had her CD little earthquakes on for few hours. I'm a big fan of good lyrics and this one is fantastic.

Gorgeous colors

It's Friday again. ! The weeks just fly by one by one. Before I know it I'll be in the office again working...but that is not happening until late next winter so why am I talking about it :-)

Anyhow I bought this cute and adorable book called Moomin's Little book of Numbers for Silja the other day. I LOVE the Moomins. This book has the most beautiful color combos. So I'm putting it on my bucket list of scrapbooking. I'm going to create Lo's using these pages as color inspiration.

Talking about gorgeous colors. This is a lo I finished today. I love the colors in this LO.
I used some old and new supplies for this lo. Echo Park and MME paper and embellies, American Crafts, Martha Stewart, Prima and Queen & co.

All kinds of stuff

We have been having some strange days here latley. Hubby home sick for 2 days (he's never sick) and then home for another 2 days for Sunneva's school vactaion. Silja keeping me up most nights so I'm pretty tired and then there is Sunneva full of energy.

Yesterday this pic was taken of us for my "4 people 12 times project". Not the best pic but what can you do or say :-)

I haven't done much of scrapping and my scrapspace is a MESS. I so need to spend some time cleaning it. It's just so tempting to scrap when I have time but now I need to clean it !

I did a lo the other day using the latest pencil lines sketch. I was so unhappy with how it turned out that I was not going to post it but now while I'm writing this I'm thinking why not. This blog is kinda like my scrapdiary and why not show the work I'm not happy with also. I think I took the sketch way to much literal.
Title: On your way home
Supplies: Echo park little girl (so so cute), Prima, Rusty pickle, Pink Paislee, EK success and Ella's studio.

Then yesterday I did a lo and I'm happy how that one turned out.

4 People 12 times

So I forgot to post our January 4 People 12 times picture. What's up with that!

This family photo was taken by Sóley in January. What's so wrong with this picture is the fact that Silja is sleeping :-)
I haven't taken the Febuary photo yet. I still have 9 days to do it.

Tomorrow I'm starting the "From the Couch to 5 km" running program. I need to focus on getting myself into shape. My goal is 2 kg per month. Let's just say that I'll have to do that for many months to reach my final goal.

I use google reader to follow all the blogs I read. I follow 192 blogs and most of them are about scrapbooking. One of the blogs I read is Ania's "Little Corner of Ania". One thing she does that I totally love is to write a semi diary on her blog. I can't count the times I have tried to write a diary. I never stay with it for reasons I don't know. So I'm going to copy her idea and when I blog I'm going to do "my diary list" just for me.

Listening: to the sleeping sheep
Eating: Nothing
Drinking: Nothing
Wearing: A nursing top and pyjamas
Feeling: Tired but hoping to get maybe an half an hour (or more is Silja sleeps soundly) to to the Pencil lines sketch for this week
Weather: Still and mild
Wanting: More sleep and time
Need: More sleep and discipline
Thinking: About how much I want to be able to scrap tonight
Enjoying: The Silence (both girls are a sleep and DH is out with his friends)
Wondering: How many minutes I have until Silja wakes up
Planning: Our 8 year weeding anniversary next Tuesday

Getting to know each other

As you can imagine I'm taking alot of pics of Sunneva and Silja together. This 2-pager has 4 pics of them together the first days after Silja was born or from Nov 3 (her birthday) to Nov 29. The journaling is about how Sunneva is adjusting to this big change in our lives.

I saw this Dear Lizzy paper used in this way in the latest issue of Scrapbook Trends mag on a LO created by Sarah de Guzmen and I thought it was brilliant it's such a cool paper.

I'm trying to scrap lo's using pics taken the first days and weeks of Silja's life. This is a simple LO about our very short stay at the hospital after Silja was born.

Supplies: Pebbles papers, Bazzill, Jenni Bowlin, Teresa Collins, Tim Holtz, EK success etc. Here I used some of my "old" supplies and I also uese 3 stamps and that must be a record for me. I wanted to "dress up" the journaling spots without creating alot of "mess". This is me stepping outside my comfort room :-)

These pics are from last Summer and Sunneva is enjoying the Summer rain. The title is taken from an icelandic song and translates to something like: I like the rain or I think the rain is good.

We finally got some snow here and I love taking snow photos so I used the oppertunity and went out with the camera. I even took some pics of Silja "in" the snow but on this LO I used pics of Sunneva. Silja's first snow lo will be created later.
I used some Bo bunny papers I got from secret santa last christmas. I love this paperline. It's totally gorgeous. I used a sketch from Pencil Lines and the fan fold flowers I made after seeing this tutirol online. These flowers are so simple and really gorgeous !

Project 12 January

Whoo hooo my first 2-pager for Project 12 is done ! I really like how it turned out, clean and simple. I used the sketch and it was fantastic to work with. I love this project and I'm so glad I'm finally doing this.

Each month I'm going to end the journaling with few words that sums up how the month was for us. Also this month I used a color combo that I feel describes the month very well for me. Grey = tired, pink= taking care of my two beautiful girls and blue = soft weather and spending alot of time home (inside). Don't ask why but these colors mind me of these things right now.

Last part of the journaling (the words): breastfeeding, crying (Silja), staying home alot (me), work (DH), school and hobbies (Sunneva), my mom and dad (helping out) and soft weather.

Supplies: Bazzill, Basic grey, Echo Park, Webesters, American Crafts, Martha Stewart, Stamping Up and EK success.

On the pics you can see my mom, my dad, Sunneva and Silja (and a little bit of me).

Also this means I have done 2 LO's so only 48 more to go :-)

Too much spending ?

Lately I have been spending too much money on scrapsupplies. Normally that would be ok (or at least I tell myself that) but now I'm on maternity leave and have to think more about what I spend my money.
Today I ordered two punches from Two peas that I told myself I had to have and I'm waiting for an order from HSS. So as you can see this shopping sickness has hit my hard :-)
When I saw this on Hanna's blog I knew this was just the thing for me. I have way too many paper sheets, embellies etc and I need to use up my stash before I buy more. Phewww this will be hard since I'm longing for some of the new Create Paper, Maya Road, MLS etc.
I have also put into a wooden winebox embellies I have had for some time now and I have challenged myself to use every item in the box before August 31.
So how many creations should I aim for ??? 20, 30, 50 or 70. Let's see last month I created 12 LO's and 4 cards and it was a hard month because Silja's colic was bad so did not have much time to scrap. I should be able to create 15 LO's and 4 cards per month (at least...right !) So my challenge is to create 50 LO's and 12 cards and not buy any new supplies until I reach that goal.
How does that sound ? For every LO I do I'll put 100 ISK in a jar and for every card I create I'll put 50 ISK in the jar. When I reach my target I can use that money to buy some of the new CHA stuff.
I'm starting this challenge today ! Hopefully I will reach my goal number before May 1.

A Summer LO

There are only 2 days of January left and I have done 12 LO's and 4 cards. I can't believe it since I did not have that much time this month to scrap. These 12 LO's have been created when I have 10-15 minutes to spare.

This 2-pager took me "forever" to finish. Why ? Well I haven't had that much time the last few days because of my little girl. She really needs here mom to hold her these days.

I have this huge pile of pictures of Sunneva that I need to scrap and I'm working myself through them. I took these cute pics of her last Summer. The journaling tells her to always remember to enjoy the little things in life. Like flowers.

Beautiful Doodlebug

I'm struggling with scrapping style. I feel stuck. I feel like all the LO's I create look the same and are not good enough. My problem is that I love so many differents styles. I love vintage, shabby chick, lo's filled with details, I love clean and classic etc but what is my style in all of this.

I have found out that I'm happier with my clean LO's. The one that have clean and straight line. I love details so what I'm aiming for is straight lines, clean look and details.

This is a LO I started yesterday and finished today. It's not straight and clean and guess what I'm not that happy with how it turned out.

What I love about this LO are these two Doodlebug papers I used for this LO (the red one and the one with the hearts).

These pics were taken last Summer. Sunneva got her first Inline skates and she loved them.

Challenges

This year I'm going to do at least 2 challenges. I have been wanting to the first one for few years now.
The first one is to create a 2-pager using pics from each month and the journaling will be about how the month was for us. Basically all the daily stuff. When I saw this Project 12 challenge on Davinie Fiero blog I thought it would be perfect for me to stay on track and stay motivated.
Another challenge I'm going to do this year is to take one pic each month of the family. I think it will be so much fun at end of year to see how much or how little we have changed. I saw this on this blog that's hosted by Tara Whitney. We will have 12 pics of the four of us at the end of this year. It will be my 4 people 12 times challenge.
I can't wait to start !

Over the next few days I'm going to be focusing on creating several cards I need to do.

I can't believe that I have not posted here since July 2010 ! What is up with that. Well hopefully I'll spend more time scrapping the year 2011 then I did 2010.
This is LO is a double first for me. It is the first LO I create 2011 and it's also the first LO I did for Silja. The title is Welcome Silja and the pics are taken minutes after she was born Nov 3 2010. The envelope stores the pregnancy and birth story for Silja to read when she is older.
Supplies: Bazzill, Girls Paperie, Marvy Uchida, Prima, Queen & co, EK success, Maya Road, Making Memories and the flowers are from Skrapp og gaman (an icelandic online store).
