An Altered Snowman

I bought this Snowman a month ago at a local craft store. Yesterday Sunneva and I „scrapped“ it together. She did so much herself. She cut the paper, inked the edged and layered all the snowflakes and flowers for me. As you can see I let her color the Hat ! I don‘t have it in me to change it... well at least not until next year. We are going to use this Snowman to count down to Christmas for us. We had an amazing time creating this together !

All other supplies I got from HSS. Dream Street papers, Imaginise snowflakes and Prima flowers, Basic grey brads, Doodlebug jewel, Lanzing buttons, MM thread, Queen & co felt ribbon and Snowflake Sequins. Cricut Joy of the Season and George letters.

Christmas Cards

This will be the first Christmas since I started scrapping (2004) that I will be sending Christmas cards I created. I scrapped 50% of our Christmas Cards this year and hopefully I will do them all next year. They are all pretty simple but I feel good sending them out. These two are a little bit different from all the others I did.

Most of the Supplies I got from HSS. Papers are Bazzill and Dream Street Wonderland. The amazing snowflakes are from Imaginisce. The flower is Prima. The chipboard is MME. The journaling box is Joy of the Season Cricut cartridge. The brads are Basic grey.

A page and a project

It's been too long since I uploaded something new here. I have been so busy at work and my social life has never been so busy as it is these weeks.

We have an amazing guest designer over at HSS Julie Overby her challenge was: "This challenge is all about cutting it up Create a layout with 'fussy cutting' on it."

I used the nov kit from Studio Calico to create my LO. Title Together. It's been so long since I scrapped (or at least it feels like it's been long) that I felt rusty.

I have Ali Edwards in my bloglines and I love all the fun scrap projects she does. Documenting Dec is one of them and I'm going to do it. The hole point of this project is to have the album ready when Dec 1 comes along. The only thing I'll have to is to print out the pics and write the journal each day. The title of this mini album is: 26 days of Dec 2008.

Guess what happend to my "baby" over the weekend ??? A co-worker was playing with my camera (lesson never hand over your camera to someone else) and he ruined some part of it so now it's beeing fixed (or at least I hope they can fix it). I'll borrow my dad's camera !!! I feel like someone hurt my baby.

HSS guest challenge

I have not been in much creative mood lately but hopefully that will change soon.

I did though finish a mini album for Skrappa's next newsletter. I'll be posting pics of that one when the newsletter is out.

As always we over at HSS have a great guest designer for Oct Helen MacCain had a great challenge this month check it out here her sample LO is freaking fantastic.

This is the challenge:
"What is one of one of those little things that make your town, family, children or state what it is? It can be unique, funny, an inherited characteristic, or a landmark, maybe something that only occurs seasonally. Scrap about it, with or without a picture, and tell your story."

Title: Kópavogur (the name of the town I live in)
Journaling: Reykjavík --Gardabear--Kópavogur ? Will Kópavogur be the last town I live in ? As things are now I think so but only time will tell. I'm just getting to know my new town but there is one building there the Church that I have always admired. I don't go to church so it's not about that. In my mind this building has always been a symbol for Kópavogur.

Supplies: Papers and journaling box MME, Coredinations ColorCore Cardstock, Hambly rub ons, Maya Road chipboard, Glitz stickers and Prima flowers.

So my scrapfriends Kathie and Anna Sigga tagged me thanks girls. I'll post 7 random facts about me tomorrow. I'm too tired now to do it.

Today is the first day of Winter and we have snow ! I love snow and I really need to take my DD out and get some cute snow pics.

These are pics from my mom's suprise birthday. She turned 70 last year and did not celebrate her birthday. My parents spent her birthday in Germany so when they came home we held her a suprise party.
Title: Suprise Birthday party

Bad Girls top designer

I made it through to next round over at Bad Girls Top Designer competition. This round the teacher is Bethany Kartchner really cool teacher. The assignment is to use accessories effectively in a lo with the designes rules in mind: Texture, balance, unity and harmony.

I took these pics this Summer when my DH and his crazy friends played in Mud Soccer competition. They had never done it before but they finished #3 of 24 teams ! My DH was the star in the team :-) Pretty fun.
Texture: buttons, fibers, chipboard, distressing, embossing and burlap fabric. The titleletters are made from two sets of letters and they overlap each other and are distressed.

Balance: I created balance with the 3 pics lined up together and the circles in the 2 corners keep the weight at balance. The flow is created by using repetition of color and elements thoughout the LO.
Unity: The circle shape come from the ball in the pics and I used it on the lo with circles in the corners, buttons and journaling box. Also the stars wich are the theme of the LO. My DH was the star in his team.
Harmony: The colors are pulled from the photos. I tried to take the dirt and roughness from the pics scene and keep them going on to the LO. With the distressing and the burlap.
The title is: The Mud Soccer Star

SuppliesPapers: Bazzill, Pink Paislee, American Crafts and Paper Loft. Fibers Basic gray. Distressing Ink and embossing powder Tim Holtz. Doodlebug glitter. Hambly transparancy. Rusty Pickle chipboard stars. Cricut and Stamped cartridge (title letters). Making Memories sticker letters. Buttons lansing. Journaling box silk-screened Labels. Burlap (the fabric) from the Paris Flea market BG kit.

Rusty Pickle sept challenge and Scrapping Outback

I got a happy email today. I won the Rusty Pickle sept challenge with my LO: After 1 year. Rusty Pickle is sending me a RAK whooo hooo so soon I'll be getting happy mail.
My amazing adorable friend Kathie just tagged me with a I love your blog tag. Thanks gorgeous !!!! I'll have to think about who I will tag.
It week 6 over at Scrapping Outback chipboard school and only one assignement left after this week. I have been having so much fun. I have learned a lot and I amazed by the talent over there not only the teachers but also the students.
For this challenge I painted a gorgeous butterfly chipboard I got from Scrapping Outback with Making memories paint. I used clear embossing powder on it and while it was still hot but some tulle over it. I embossed it 2 times more and then but glitter on it. It looks really cute IRL the pic is not too good. I just have to say that this line from Autumn Leaves is one of the most gorgeous line I have ever seen. Totally yummy.
Title: Angle

Supplies: Bazzill bling, Autumn Leaves papers and ribbon, Q&C brads, Scrapping outback chipboard butterfly, American Crafts glitter letters and Making memories sticker letters.
