Scrapping Outback chipboard school week 2

I have been sick for more then a week now. I went to work and all but I have been feeling aweful. Hopefully I'll get my health back this weekend. I hate feeling sick !

As I said before I'm in this great competition over at the Scrappping Outback site. I'm learning so much I can't believe it. Their chipboards are fantastic you really should check them out. I bought chipboards from them and the service was great and fast.

Class #2 was hosted by Rachelle a really talented scrapper who I think must be on the Rusty pickle DT with my gorgeous, fantastic and one of the most talented scrappers I know Kathie.

Anyhow here is my LO for week 2. I had so much fun with this technique and I totally loved to slow down my process and this technique sure did that.

The journaling are my thoughts about what my DD future hobby/interest will be. In short I'm guessing what her hobby will be in the future with her personality today in mind.

(sorry for bad translation)
"What is your hobby going to be ? I wonder about this almost everytime I watch you play and have fun. You seem to be so torn between being a girls girl and a boy girl. I can't picture you in any kind of ball sports. Deep inside I though hoping you will like handball like rest of your family. You loved your ballet classes and you want to continue to practice ballet. Are you mabye more for fine movements ? I don't know you did not like the ball room dance class you got in your pre-school. What about music ? Will you be interested in learning to play an instrument ? You tell me you want to play the flute and a gitar. Will you know how to play chess ? I can't even start to guess what your hobby will be but hopefully you will be able to find something you love and you can enjoy for a long time. Something you can turn to and be yours."

Supplies: MME papers, Fancy Pants chipboards (circle and flower centers), the H is a Rusty pickle chipboard and other letters I think are Scenic route.Prima flowers and bling. MM paint. Autumn leaves clear stamps (on the journaling box). Technique Tuesday clear stamp (flower on chipboards). StazOn ink.

Aussie Scrap Source challenge and new scrap books

I got the books I ordered from Amazon today so you can guess what I will be doing after work this week. I'll be reading That's Life: Finding Scrapbook Inspiration in the Everyday by Nic Howard. Of course I had to peek into it when I came home and I like what I saw so I can't wait to dig into it. The other book I bought I think I will be reading infront of my computer Computer Tricks for Scrapbooking 2 by Jessica Sprague. I really need to learn to use the computer more so this is my change to do that.
I did this LO for a challenge over at Aussie Scrap Source I really like that site. It is loaded with inpiration and the LO's shown there uses products in such a creative way. Anyhow this challenge was about creating clustered fun. The challenge was: Anything Fun ! Collage/clusters, Mixed ASS brands, Torn/ripped or distressed and one/two pics.
I think I went overboard with this LO. I'm not sure I like it and I hate when that happens.
Title: Sweet as Suger.
I took these pics of Sunneva on our Independence Day June 17 2007.
Supplies: Jenni Bowlin, Scenic Route and SEI papers. Hambly rub on. Tim Holtz distressing ink and groungeboard. Scenic route chipboard letters. Felt butterfly Jenni Bowlin. Technique Tuesday clear stamps. Q&C felt ribbon and brads. I used a tip I saw on the Q&C blog today I used glitter on the adhesive side on the felt ribbon it so cool.

I'm back in school-Scrapping Outback chipboard school

This has been one fantastic day here in Iceland. Our national handball team won Spain and is going to play for the gold in the Olympics next sunday against France. This is huge. We are a nation of 300.000 people and this is a group sport (14 players) so you can imagine how big it is for us to win nations of 40 millions !!!!!!!! The nation is going crazy people are dancing on the streets. I cried and cried. Even though I'm sick as a dog I was acting like a crazy person. I'm so proud I can't describe it. We love our boys

Guess what ! I'm back to school. I'm always trying to learn something new in this amazing hobby and I have alot to learn. When I saw that the site Scrapping Outback is hosting a 7 weeks of chipboard school I just had to join the school. The funny thing is that few weeks earlier I bought chipboards from them and they arrived in the same week that the school started. How perfect was that ???

The first lesson was perfect for me, a scrapper that has been scrapping since 2004 and has never embossed. In short the lesson was to ink the title with more then one color of ink and then use clear embossing powder over it. I used this technique on the word Pirate and the Cute birdie. Both chipboards are from Scrapping Outback.

Title: So not a Pirate Girl. Subtitle: She is a pure Princess.

Supplies I used for this LO: Bazzill cardstock, Rusty Pickle chocolate Kisses, Bazzill brad, Prima jewel, doodlebug ric rac, American Crafts thichers, Scrapping Outback chipboards (the title and the birdie), Doodlebug Ink, Stamping UP ink, Fancy pants stamp,Hambly overlay StazOn ink, Tim Holtz distressing clear ink,Whispers clear embossing powder and the ribbon/lace is unknown.
This was so much fun and I'm not an embossing virgin anymore.

My DD turned 5 last sunday and I did this LO few day's before her Birthday. The journaling is pretty long as you can see and since you don't read icelandic (I don't understand what that is all about !!!) I will try to translate most of it for you here it goes:"Almost 5 ! Time really does fly. My little girl is getting big. You are a fantastic kid. Kind. Funny and you can easily make all kinds of jokes and phrases. You love to learn about things. The last few months you have been asking me and your dad all kinds of interesting questions like; who makes iron, where does the water come from, who makes seeds etc. You don't like to wait for things you need everything right away but you have been like that since your were 2. Sometimes you weine (spelling??) You do what we tell you most of the time and you can take no for an answer. You are the sweetest girl and you like to give us and others big hugs. You are really helpful around the house. You love to clean, help out with the cooking etc. Your love for clothes as only grown. How many pairs of shoes does a 5 year old need ??? Never enough was your answer. You are a princess but also a tomboy. You love books and listening to music. Puzzles are your thing. You are growing. You are not a baby anymore you are a kid. Books by Nic Howard and Jessica Spraque

I just placed an order on Amazon for two books That's Life: Finding Scrapbook Inspiration in the Everyday by Nic Howard and Computer Tricks for Scrapbooking 2 by Jessica Spraque. I have been in love with the idea of scrapping your everyday life for a long time. I'm guessing that more then 70% af my LO's are about the everyday stuff. This book by Nic Howards is getting great reviews and I need some ideas and inspiration. I also need to start to use my computer more then I have been doing. I downloaded the trial version of Photoshops Elements 6 today and if I like it I'm going to buy it. I'm hoping this book by Jessica Spraque is going to help me to play with my pics.

Now the wait start for the happy box. Let's see how long it takes for the order to arrive on my doorstep here in Iceland.

A challenge

I belong to a wonderful group of ladies that meet pretty regulary to scrap. One of them came up with this idea that every time we meet we take with us a kit that we have put together. Then we draw who gets what kit. The challenge is to use all the supplies in the kit on a LO or other project. So last time we got together I drew a kit with: A pink scalloped felt border (Fancy Pants), 4 silver brads, a clock overlay, chipboard numer 3, chipboard arrow, 2 pink clear flowers and 1 brown button. At first I thought this will be easy. Boy was I wrong. What stood in my way was the fact that she had just put 1 brown button (I would have liked at least 3) and 2 pink clear flowers (again I would have liked at least 3). The embellieshment kinda came from every direction but I'm guessing that was what she wanted to let the person who got the kit sweat a little bit.

This is what I came up with. Title is Kirkjuból 3 years (the name of my DD pre-school the last 3 years). I did cut the scalloped felt border in two and added a pink ribbon on it. I did paint the brown button pink and added some glitter to it. My DD spent the last 3 years on a wonderful pre-school with wonderful women. She has to spend her last year in pre-school in a new one since we moved. I'm going to create a mini album about her time there and that is the reason I did not add any journaling to this LO.

Other supplies: Bazzill bling, Rusty Pickle chocolate Kisses papers, Fancy Pants stamp, Heidi Swapp paint, Prima flowers, Doodlebug glitter, Making Memories journaling paper, American Crafts letters and metalic ink.

Boy this was so much harder then I thought in the beginning but this was a challenge and I did it.
