A page and a project

It's been too long since I uploaded something new here. I have been so busy at work and my social life has never been so busy as it is these weeks.

We have an amazing guest designer over at HSS Julie Overby her challenge was: "This challenge is all about cutting it up Create a layout with 'fussy cutting' on it."

I used the nov kit from Studio Calico to create my LO. Title Together. It's been so long since I scrapped (or at least it feels like it's been long) that I felt rusty.

I have Ali Edwards in my bloglines and I love all the fun scrap projects she does. Documenting Dec is one of them and I'm going to do it. The hole point of this project is to have the album ready when Dec 1 comes along. The only thing I'll have to is to print out the pics and write the journal each day. The title of this mini album is: 26 days of Dec 2008.

Guess what happend to my "baby" over the weekend ??? A co-worker was playing with my camera (lesson never hand over your camera to someone else) and he ruined some part of it so now it's beeing fixed (or at least I hope they can fix it). I'll borrow my dad's camera !!! I feel like someone hurt my baby.

HSS Challenge and more

There is another fantastic Guest Designer this month over at HSS. Holly Pittroff has the coolest challenge over there. Here is the link for the challenge. The challenge: use at least 3 stars on a LO and alter or clue it down in two different ways.
I used one huge star as you can see and I used brads to pin it down. I also used several small stars and I embossed them.
This is a picture taken 2006. Here in Iceland we have this run called The Women's Run. I have taken Sunneva to it 4 times. This picture was taken after the run 2006. On it is me, Sunneva, my mom, my mother's sister and her husband. They are like my grandparents. Baldur (the man on the pic) past away month after this pic was taken. This pics along with other pics taken that day were the last pics ever taken of him. They mean alot to me.
Supplies: Bazzill paper it light brown, Crate pper (the brown with circles), Creative Imaginations (the green under the star) and Autumn leaves (the one in the corner), Chipboards Fancy pants, brads Queen&Co, Hambly journaling box, American Crafts letters, KI memories chipboards (flower, photo corner and butterfly) and Tim Holtz embossing powder.

Another project I had over the weekend was the first class in my Sassy scraps techniques class over at NYC scraps Our first class was all about embossing and using things around our house For that technique.

This one was a trial and error process for me. First I picked patterened paper I liked and tired to emboss the mosaic tials in my bathroom. I did not like the out come of that one and I think it's because I used PP. Then I tried cardstock and used buttons to emboss. It was ok but hard since the bottons were thick. Then I went into my DD room and looked around for some time and then I saw it the perfect thing...I took apart her Babrie Van. I pulled the door of the bathroom from the Van and used it for this project ! This was totally fun. I kinda felt like a little kid again. I used Chalk ink to highligt the embossing. The quote is from a Rusty pickle line, ribbon Basic grey and the rub ons are American Crafts.

I have also been working on my HSS design project this weekend. I have an upload next thusday and I have never been so late on my projects but they are coming along and I'll be ready to upload them.

Guest Designer challenge - Tammy Tutterow

There is an amazing Guest Designer over at HSS http://www.happyscrappinscrapbooking.net/ this month. It's Tammy Tutterow http://tammytutterow.com/ she has such a fab style.

The challenge was to take pic of our hands and journal about them.

This is my version of Tammy's challenge.
I used some Crate Paper and KI lace paper. I did cut the Q&C felt down to get this look and I used Q&C brads to give the felt something little extra. The cute felt flower in the corner is also Q&C. The flower is all Prima.

The jounaling says (sorry for bad translation)
What does my hand say about me ? I truly can't say. The first thing that comes into to mind when I think about my hands is that I don't like them. I have always thought they were ugly. Mom says I have the same hands as my grandmother Anna Björg. That can be true since she does not have nice hands. Today my hands are too chubby. I can't even use my rings anymore and that makes me sad. I bite my fingernails when I'm stressed and since the last months have been stressfull I have no fingernails. On a good note these hand good care of a little girl and a husband. These fingers to an aweful lot of typing. These hands keep the house cleand. They are used to hold up books I love to read. I use them for my hobby scrapbooking and photography. These hands have worked all kinds of jobs but not much hard labour. Hopefylly these hands will old well. Hopefully they can carry my rings soon. Hopefully they are going to take care for more children and help the people I love to feel save.
